Yuanpei College respects students' freedom of choices. Students in Yuanpei can choose any course of any major freely, allowed by the school's teaching resources. After learning about the disciplines, majors and training objectives of Peking University, under the guidance of their tutors, Yuanpei students choose majors in the whole school according to their abilities and interests in the third semester.

Yuanpei implements a flexible studying period, providing time guarantee for students' development. Students can apply for one-year-in-advance or defer-up-to-two-year graduation in accordance with their own interdisciplinary and personalized study arrangements.
