This major is aimed at cultivating leading talents in students determined to devote themselves to science. The curriculum is designed and delivered by outstanding teachers engaged in interdisciplinary research in life sciences from relevant departments of Peking University, including a number of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and winners of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. To optimize the allocation of educational resources, the curriculum is well-designed exclusively, which features smaller class sizes. In addition to grasping solid basic knowledge of mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology, the students pay attention to interdisciplinary integration and comprehensive understanding of science. This major emphasizes cultivating students' initiative, critical, all-round and interdisciplinary innovative thinking.
